Zombies All Around: Face of the Day!

As a society, it seems we have a pretty healthy fascination with the notion of things dying…but not quite dying.

We love Vampires…

We love Ghosts that you'd never guess were Ghosts…

And lately…we’ve totally joined the many forces who seriously love (and by “love,” I mean “are terrified by”) Zombies.

Zombies are everywhere these days.

From our favorite TV shows…

...to our favorite time-wasting, but addictive, iPad apps…

...to the way we feel in the mornings when we’ve stayed up too late indulging in our favorite TV shows and iPad apps…

...Zombies aren’t anything new in our lives.

In fact, when we were kids, a “Zombie” wasn’t something that was terrifying or that would eat our brains.  No…it was the stuff of every kid's dreams, and a thirst quenching delight.  Yep...it was a combination of every soda available at the Skate Ranch in one tall hard plastic cup.

Remember those?  I know some of you might have had different names for them…Suicide?  Swamp Water? Graveyard?  Call it what you want, ladies, but the “every single soda imaginable concoction” was known as the Zombie in these parts…and if you didn’t get a Zombie when you went to the Skate Ranch…you might as well have stayed home.

We don't know what it was about mixing so many “non-matching” drinks together that brought such euphoria…but it remains one of the unique flavors of our childhood...and we LOVED it.

It seems J hasn’t grown out of the mix and match phase quite yet.  Mixing together products from several different brands, she created today’s face of the day…and ended up looking a BIT better than your average Skate Ranch trolling Pre-Teen...or even the classiest of Undead Monsters.  :)

Do you mix and match cosmetics on a regular basis…or do you stick with common brands/products to create your desired looks?  Did you love mixing sodas together as a kid?
