2 Minute Review: MoistureSmooth Color Stick by Neutrogena--Courtesy of BzzAgent!

Hey Darlings,

K and I are really excited to be a part of BzzAgent, which is one of the coolest Word of Mouth programs around.  If you’re not familiar with how it works, visit their site here…but basically, they invite you to participate in different campaigns, in which you review products that they send.  What has four thumbs and loves to review products?  These girls!  :)

The latest campaign that we were included in is a Neutrogena campaign…and we’re thrilled to give these products some face time here at WyoSparkles!

Among some other Neutrogena goodies...(which will all get some face time, we promise!)...we received the following fun pink lip gloss:

It's Sweet Watermelon, from Neutrogena's MoistureSmooth Color Stick line...and oh man, do I love it!  The gloss goes on super light...not sticky...but keeps my lips soft and moisturized for quite a while.  The color is somewhat sheer...perfect for wearing over another color...but also great for a conservative pop of color on nude lips.

We couldn't be happier to add this little gem to our continually growing lip product collection...hahaha...and can't wait to try out some of their other flavors, which include Juicy Peach, Fresh Papaya, Bright Berry, Warm Caramel, Soft Raspberry, Plum Perfect, and Rich Raisin.

Once again, we're so grateful to BzzAgent for including us in this campaign.  Are you a BzzAgent yet?  Check out all the details here!

What is your favorite product by Neutrogena?

Talk to you soon...have an awesome day!

March Glam Bag...A Little Underwhelming

We’re halfway through March, and it’s officially Spring, which means we Wyoming girls are trying to survive a month or so more of waiting for it to actually feel like Spring.  :)  We don’t have green grass and flowers yet…we’ve got brown grass and mud.  We’ve got more sunshine, which is promising, but we still have to scrape the frost off of our windows on some mornings.  We’re in the middle of “meh” month in Wyoming!

Perhaps it was with “meh” in mind that ipsy created our March Glam Bags…we can’t think of any other explanation.  Though we are usually head over heels in love with our ipsy bags…this month’s bag left us wishing for a little bit more.

The bag itself has a marine theme, with stripes and anchors decorating the outside.  Neither of us were totally in love with the bag…and it feels a little cheaper than some of the more recent bags that ipsy has sent.

Within our bags we got:
  • La Fresh Travel-Lite Makeup Remover Wipes—This small packet would have been great for our recent vacation…and will certainly be a nice addition to our travel bags in the coming months…but neither of us is dying to use them right away.
  • Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist—We’re actually both intrigued by this product, as living in Wyoming’s dry climate definitely calls for extra hydration!  The instructions say to mist it on freshly cleansed skin throughout the day, though…and I don’t know about you, but my skin isn’t freshly cleansed throughout the day…and I worry about messing up my makeup!  Still, we’re excited to see if this provides extra hydration in the morning, in lieu of a heavier (and perhaps pore clogging!) moisturizer or cream.
  • An adorable fillable magnetic travel palette by GlamRX—This is probably our favorite piece in this month’s bag…we love the fillable palette concept, and look forward to filling this little cutie up with colors to take with us wherever we go!
  • Two magnetic eye colors by yaby—these two colors—we both got Seashell, a shimmery cream, and Azalea Petal, a soft mauve—snapped right into our GlamRX palettes and are ready to use…they just need some company in there!

And…that’s it.  Once the eye colors are placed in the palette, we’re left with three items, and it seems like the bag is pretty empty.  Not to be whiny, but we both felt a little underwhelmed by ipsy for the first time in a long time.  It’s really not a matter of poor quality of products….which it definitely was about this time last year with ipsy….but we’ve been so spoiled by them in recent months that we both felt like there should have been more.

We have high hopes for a more dazzling bag from ipsy in April…they are still our number one subscription service…we have nothing but confidence in their ability to wow us next month!

Do you subscribe to ipsy?  What did you think of the March Glam Bag?

2 Minute Review: Sigma Spa's Brush Cleaning Glove

We recently did a post in anticipation of Sigma Spa’s newest offering, a Brush Cleaning Glove.  Once the glove was available for purchase, we went ahead and put our order in…we were dying to know what the fuss was about, and thought we’d better officially review it now that we’ve put it to use.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the product at all, it is a silicone glove/mitten, lined with a removable cotton terry mitten.

The glove features several different textured surfaces, on both sides, that are designed to facilitate in cleaning different sizes, shapes, and styles of makeup brushes.

We broke the glove out before we left on our recent vacation to get our brushes ready for a workout on the road, and to see if it lived up to its promise to "change the way we wash our brushes forever."  Here’s what we found:

What We Liked:
--The material:  The soft silicone is sturdy enough to really go to work on your brush, but gentle enough not to damage them.
--The textures:  Just as man cannot live on bread alone, cosmetic brushes cannot be washed with one technique alone.  With the combination of so many different shaped and sized textures, we found that we were able to find an area that was perfect for each brush we cleaned.
--The result:  Our brushes seemed to get clean more quickly than usual, and felt GREAT once they’d dried.

What We Didn’t Care For:
--The fact that it is a glove:  We’re not sure if it’s to accommodate hands of all sizes, or to provide ample surface area, but the glove itself is pretty big…and was kind of awkward to use when we were wearing it.  Eventually we found it easier to just lay the glove on the inner curve of the sink, and to clean our brushes against it.  We thought a better product might have been a cleaning block, which would have been made of the same material, with a different surface on each side, that could have just been held in the hand you’re not cleaning with.

Overall Impression:
We really did like the results that we received from using this product, and we’ll continue using it now that we have it.  If you’re not afraid to get your hands wet, the fact that it is a glove isn’t really a selling point for us…and with a price tag of $39, it might not seem worth it to some.  While our brushes felt AWESOME, we can’t guarantee that you couldn’t get the same result just using your hands and taking a little more time with each brush.

So, that’s it…what do you think?  We’ve heard from people who love this product, as well as from those who are less than impressed.  Where do you fit on that spectrum; is this a product you have tried or would like to try in the future?
