Hey all...it's me, J. :)
K and I were recently sent several items from Prestige Cosmetics to review. Neither of us was overly familiar with the Prestige line (it’s not available here in town) so we were eager to check the new-found goodies out.
Among the products we received, I was super excited to try the Total Intensity Eyeliner, as we’d heard from Marina over at mCubed Makeup that is was comparable to UD's 24/7 glide on eye pencil. If there is one thing that I love in this world...(aside from football, Disneyland and Kenny Chesney)...it is Urban Decay's Perversion pencil eyeliner. It is my favorite...and I was ready to put this new liner to the test!
We got the pencil in deepest black, which is a good thing, because it would have to be pretty black to be compared to Perversion, right? I'm not going to lie...I was skeptical going in. How could an inexpensive drugstore liner compare to Urban Decay? I have super watery eyes, sometimes, and I have never found a liner that stays in place and stays BLACK the way that UD does.
You guys...this stuff is the real deal. It is amazing! I don't know, really, how it actually isn't just Perversion by another name. They are identical. The way they apply...the way they resist smudging and watery eyes...staying right where they were put...all day long...and the fact that they are the blackest black imaginable.
Here is a swatch of the two liners next to each other...can you tell which is which? The only real difference is that one pencil was a bit sharper than the other when I swatched...but color/output is identical...
I took that picture this morning at around 6:30. And...in the name of science/truth in makeup blogging, I left those swatches on my hand all day. I wanted to see how they held up. I washed my hands as usual. I put on lotion as usual. And this is my hand at 4:00 in the afternoon:
Clearly, they are a little smudged...not pristine...but they look pretty darn good for being washed and lotioned throughout the day...not to mention that I didn't put setting spray on my hand. ;) Once again, I think you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two.
Do you know which is which yet? Here you go:
Did you guess right? If so, I am certain that it was due to luck rather than being able to detect any difference between the two products. They seriously ARE the same liner, I swear. Oh wait...no they aren't...the Prestige is WAY less expensive...as in less than half the price. As in, cheaper than many other drugstore brands, even. As in, $5.50 at Ulta. WHAT???
I am officially declaring that Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner is a long lost twin of Urban Decay's Perversion pencil liner. Just like Katherine's doppelganger Elena (yeah, I had to throw an Vampire Diaries reference in there...I'm on a kick) you will not be able to tell the difference between these two products...and if you can get identical results, for a fraction of the price...you'd be crazy not to go with Prestige.
If you love UD's 24/7 pencils...or if you just like amazing eyeliner...(like I do)...try this one. You will NOT regret it. Prestige has a fan in WyoSparkles!
