2 Minute Review: Lorac PRO Palette

You know, there was a time when a person would tell us that they met their true love online, and we might have snickered under our breath.  We might have even worried that their dreamboat would turn out to be a serial killer or worse, a stinky person, hidden behind a relatively presentable photo.

Our point of view has been reversed, however, since we met and fell in love with the Lorac PRO Palette, over the internet, this past summer.

Isn’t it lovely?  Doesn’t it make you swoon?  It’s almost too good to be true.  Immediately upon seeing it online, we knew we wanted it…the attraction was intense and undeniable. Through online posts and frequent trips to the Sephora website, we got to know the PRO Palette…and regardless of the fact that we had never met in person…we really thought it might be the real thing.

What if we were wrong, though?  What if we finally came face to face with the PRO Palette and it wasn’t all it had been cracked up to be?  What if we didn’t hit it off?  What if, behind the pretty picture was a palette that lacked substance and left us broken hearted?

It was a risk that, after several weeks of pining, we decided we were willing to take.  We chose a date…we went to Sephora…and as scandalous as it might sound…we picked that PRO Palette right up.

Ladies…you don’t have to worry…IT IS TRUE LOVE!

This palette is even more beautiful in person than it was online, and we HAD to have it as soon as we held it in our hands.  The colors are like velvet butter...as if that were even a thing…and they are just PERFECTION.

Check it out…a little bit closer...

And some swatches...

Along with the fabulous shadows, you'll get a travel size tube of what might be my new favorite: Behind the Scenes Eye Primer...it's divine!

That’s it girls…we are skeptics no more.  You CAN find true love online.  We can’t vouch for eHarmony or match.com…but if you’re in the market for a Perfect Prince Charming in the form of a Palette…the PRO Palette is the one for you.  Go get him…he’ll sweep you off your feet!

Have you tried the PRO Palette by Lorac?  Do you believe in online romance?

This or That?

We were tagged by the very adorable Janna, aka Gloss &  Glitz, to participate in this fun tag...which, as the name implies, asks us to choose between this...or that...between two alternatives in the beauty world.  Of course, there ARE two of us here at WyoSparkles...so you're getting two for the price (is clicking on this post a price?) of one!  :)  J's answers will be in blue...K's will be in purple!  So....let's go!

Ok, here we go:
  1. Blush or Bronzer? Back in the day it would have totally be bronzer...but I'm more about the blush anymore. Blush...I can say without a doubt...I have an obsession with blush. :)
  2. Lipgloss or Lipstick? I love both...but tend to have more lip gloss...like, a whole purse full.  hahaha. You know I used to be head over for lipgloss, but I love lipstick soo much!  I'm torn on this one..love them both!
  3. Chapstick or Lip Butter? The more moisturizing the better...bring on the butter!  I'm a chapstick - medicated junkie...I love the tingle!  Probably because growing up in Wyoming (dry weather) my lips were always in medicated moisturizing.
  4. Matte or Sparkle Eye Shadow? I'm a shimmery gal, usually!  Can't I have a little of both and call it markle?  or spatte?  haha :)
  5. Gel, Liquid, Cream, or Pencil Eyeliner? Pencil.  I love the look of liquid, but I'm sooo not coordinated to apply it well.  Liquid!!  :)
  6. Foundation or Concealer? Both!  Full coverage, baby!  Not sure if this is a good thing...but love me or leave me...haha. I'm a 2 foundation girl...meaning I use a lighter foundation as my concealer.  So...foundation!?
  7. Liquid or Powder Foundation? Liquid  Liquid, I could never get the powder to work...
  8. Neutral or Statement Eyes? Statement.  My eyes are never the same twice, and almost always bold.  I never have an excuse to wear "fun" makeup, so I just do it every day. I love color and playing and trying new things, so I'm definitely a statement kind of girl.
  9. Pressed or Loose Shadows? I have limited experience with loose pigments, but I've loved the results.  I used pressed 99% of the time, though.  pressed - I'm still learning the tricks of loose....help me!!  (any tips?)  :)
  10. Waterproof or Non Water proof? I hate waterproof mascara with a passion!  I like waterproof liner, though. I'm on the fence...either one will work.
  11. Brushes, Sponges or Fingers? Brushes! Brushes....but I LOVE my beauty blender!
  12. Powder, Cream, or Liquid Highlighter? Powder, usually.  powder, powder, powder!
Thanks so much to Janna for including us in this fun tag.  We love talking...and love talking about ourselves...hahah...so this was a blast.  If you're not regularly reading Janna's blog or following her on twitter...you need need NEED to get on that.  She's darling!!

Also, let us know if you want to do this tag...we feel like a lot of you have already done it...so if you haven't...consider yourself tagged!  :)

Beauty Army, September 2012

Hey Darlings!

It's Beauty Army time again, and just like the fall colors that are exploding all around us, and the football games we've been screaming through, our September samples have us jumping for joy!

Check out the pretty white box...we love the change from black!  :)

And....the goodies:

First off, we got Youngblood's Mineral Primer, which has a texture that is consistent with other fabulous primers we've loved by Smashbox and Benefit. Can't wait to give this one a go:

Secondly, we got Suntegrity's 5 in 1 Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen. This tinted moisturizer claims to treat, hydrate, protect, prime and cover...sounds like a winning combination to us:

We also chose Lipsi Cosmetics' Aphrodite Powder, an oil absorbing finishing powder that promises to absorb excess oil and set your makeup to last all day long:

Next up is Besame's Crimson Rouge, for rosy lips and cheeks. This is actually a product we got in a previous Beauty Army box, but we loved it so much, we chose it again so that we can each have our own! :)

Nailtiques' Formula 2 is a brush on Nail Protein that is made to strength weak, flimsy, and peeling nails.

Finally, saving the best for last, we got the Macadamia Natural Oil treatment. We love hair treatments...we love Macadamia Oil...and this is a dream product!

We have so much fun choosing our Beauty Army samples each month, and can't wait to see which of September's choices we fall in love with.

Are you a member of the Beauty Army? What September Samples did you choose?

Julep - TRINA TURK Fall 2012 Collection

Imagine our excitement when Julep announced the Trina Turk Fall 2012 Collection.  Are you having trouble?  Ok...feast your eyes on this....

Trina Turk......ahhhhhhh.......the fashion...the beauty...the colors.....

For her fall (Julep) collection, designer Trina Turk was inspired by the German Bauhaus movement and the colors, shapes, and life of avant-garde artist Sonia Delaunay. Trina also created and named each shade in the September Maven lineup.

I know you are curious, so may we present to you....a little taste of Sonia Delaunay's work.

We'd never profess to be Art aficianados, but we think these are pretty cool...and did we mention how much we love the colors?  I'm not sure.  But we do.

Color is what it all comes down to when you're talking about polish, and this Trina Turk collection has managed to find the BEST colors...and bring them all to you in one Julep box.

The colors are:

Gunta, a very pretty royal blue:

Hoch, a gorgeous sage green color:

Delauney, a super hot chili pepper red:

Otte, a creamy tan/butterscotch shade:

Alma, a kind of mustardy/dijon color:

Eileen, a bright white:

Popova, a bright and fun kelly green:

Sophie, a super cool mushroom shade:

Annie, a bright and bold electric blue:

Brandt, a creamy off-black shade:

We love color, we love polish, and we love Julep...everything about this collection appeals to us, and we're super excited that we decided to grab the whole thing...it was too hard to choose a box with just two shades...we wanted them all!

Congratulations to Julep and to Trina Turk, for this fabulous collaboration.  This collection is fun and wearable, and will definitely be accenting all of our favorite looks this Fall!

What do you think of the Trina Turk Julep collection?  Which color is your favorite?
